Activision and Call of Duty will soon be in the hands of Xbox and Microsoft. Because of this, many gamers are wondering if Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will have a Beta or any special benefits for the Xbox community, as has happened in years past with PlayStation.
While Activision has yet to give an official answer, a recent trailer for the game gave a hint that got PlayStation fans excited and Xbox fans worried. The reason? A teaser confirmed in some regions a Beta of the game to be held first on PlayStation, so all indications are that the agreements between Activision and Sony will once again divide the community.
CoD: Modern Warfare III Beta would be first on PlayStation
Since the purchase of Activision Blizzard is close to being finalized, some gamers had hoped that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III would be the first major game in the series to debut under the Xbox label. However, we know that the contracts between Activision and Sony will still be in place for a while.
Gamers consider their most recent find to be proof of that. They noticed that the game trailer that PlayStation uploaded to some of its YouTube channels is different from the one offered for America. This is because it has an announcement about a Beta that will take place first on PlayStation.
Now, it is important to clarify that Activision has not confirmed as such a test of the game, but there will surely be information about it on August 17, the day when the official reveal of the shooter will take place.
Existing contracts between Activision and Sony justify that a possible test of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be done first on PlayStation. However, that doesn't make the news somewhat disappointing for the Xbox community.
Gamers in general believe it is somewhat unfair, as the title should be open to the entire community. Some Xbox gamers were unconcerned, as they hope this is one of the last times this happens due to Activision Blizzard's purchase.
