Activision clarifies doubts about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III
Hints recently surfaced linking Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III to the previous installment of the franchise, reinforcing reports that it is simply DLC and not a premium release as such.
Speaking to CharlieIntel (via Insider Gaming), Activision stated that the new installment will be a full, premium $70 USD release. Therefore, it should not be considered as a simple DLC or an expansion for the previous installment of the saga.
"As stated in numerous Activision Blizzard quarterly conference calls, Modern Warfare III is a premium release. It will be price accordingly at $70 USD," said a studio spokesperson.
Previously, it was also speculated that the shooter could debut with a reduced price, information that also proved to be inaccurate. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be unveiled on August 17, when Activision will surely emphasize the title's scale.
