Its developers believe that Xbox Game Pass is not only good for Xbox and PC users, as it also brings benefits for players on other platforms. This is because EVERSPACE 2 could be a better game thanks to Microsoft's service.
EVERSPACE 2 studio is satisfied with Xbox Game Pass
The Xbox Game Pass business model has been a topic of discussion for years, as there are those who believe it is beneficial for developers, especially smaller ones. On the other hand, there are those who think it could be detrimental to the industry in the long run.
Michael Schade, CEO of Rockfish Games, is clearly not in the second group, as he thinks Xbox Game Pass is great and beneficial for everyone. From his perspective, the funding the service gives them helps them maintain their independence and make a better game.
For that reason, he believes that everyone, both developers and players, benefit from the Xbox Game Pass model. This way, his studio receives financial backing and fans a better game on any platform.
“Ironically, not only is it good for Xbox and PC users, but it’s also good for players on other platforms: everyone gets a better game because of Xbox Game Pass. The extra funding helps us stay independent, and we can deliver the game when we think it’s ready – and it is," said Schade.
Previously, Rockfish Games had already come out in favor of Xbox Game Pass and subscription-based video game consumption. This is clear with the arrival of EVERSPACE 2 on the console service and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
