Amazon accused of using AI to promote Fallout series

The TV production has not yet released and has already had its first controversy

Amazon recently revealed new details of the Fallout series and confirmed that it will debut next year. For this, it published an image that caught a lot of attention from gamers and has been the subject of controversy.

Much of the community believes that the promotional art was generated with artificial intelligence. As a result, social networks were filled with criticism of Amazon and various analyses of the image. Many ranting against the company for using AI and not wanting to hire a real artist for the job.

The Fallout series has its first controversy for alleged use of AI

The controversy started when a social media user shared the art and reproached Amazon for being a multi-million dollar company that prefers to use AI instead of paying a person. It was then that the community began to analyze the image of the series in detail and found some curious details.

Players showed that some elements of the art are incomplete or look a bit strange. This immediately led them to think about the use of an AI and raise their voices against the company, as they consider that it is turning its back on the artists.

On social networks there are screenshots of elements such as palm trees that are incomplete, vehicles that look strange and more details that alerted fans of the franchise.

As you know, AIs are capable of generating images with a high level of detail; however, sometimes there is evidence that the work was not done by a person. Some players also criticized Amazon for not having better quality control, regardless of whether or not it used AI.

“It’s a shame that Amazon took the cheapest route by generating the artwork without even taking the time to do any sort of quality control. I’m sure a lot of artists would’ve absolutely loved the opportunity to do the art for this.

"There’s a long history of film and TV adaptations that didn’t pay enough respect to their source material, but I think generating art using AI is the most disrespectful thing that could be done. It’s the lowest of effort, it’s literally not doing any effort,” said an upset fan.
