Sony announced this morning that PlayStation Plus will increase in price worldwide starting in September. Specifically, the company will increase the cost of the 12-month subscription in all plans of its popular service.
Thus, the subscription will now cost more at the Essential, Extra and Premium levels. According to the company, this adjustment is necessary to continue offering high-quality games and attractive benefits to players. Below are the new prices.
How much will the 12-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions cost?
To begin with, it is important to mention that the price adjustment will take effect from next September 6. From that day on, the 12-month PlayStation Plus subscription will have an increase in all regions.
The 12-month PlayStation Plus Essential subscription will cost $79.99 USD. Meanwhile, subscriptions for the Extra and Premium tiers will cost $134.99 USD and $159.99 USD, respectively.
Sony stated that the new prices will still represent a savings over signing up for the service through 1-month or 3-month subscriptions. Players who currently have a 12-month subscription should not worry, as the price adjustment will take effect until their next renewal.
It is important to clarify that any membership changes made after September 6 will already be included in the new price list.
