Starfield will officially debut until September 6, but some players can already enjoy it thanks to the early access that started this week. As expected, the new Bethesda title has been a huge success even though it is not yet available for everyone.
Proof of this is the incredible number of players it registered on Steam just a few hours after the start of its early access. At the time of writing this, it has peaks of more than 200,000 players, which speaks of the great expectations for the RPG.
Starfield is a hit on Steam with thousands of players
According to SteamDB, about 187,262 are enjoying their space journey through Starfield this morning. What's interesting is that the RPG's peak number of players is 234,502, a figure it registered in just a couple of hours.
Those numbers are expected to increase throughout the day and go up quite a bit when the game is officially available for everyone. The current numbers speak of the great hype for the title, which will undoubtedly easily break its first marks.
Despite being a day 1 release on Xbox Game Pass, early access already gave Starfield its first record in terms of players, and it's a figure that will probably surprise Bethesda.
Early access is 5 days and is available to players who purchased the most complete editions of the game. Below you can see the figures that Starfield has registered so far only on Steam:
