Achieving success is complicated, but that doesn't mean that once you reach the top, everything becomes smooth sailing. Don't believe us? Then you must hear the story of SCKR Games, the developer behind Only Up!, the viral sensation of 2023. This developer recently decided to remove their game from Steam forever because they prefer to forget it.

On September 8th, SCKR Games announced that they had made the decision to take Only Up! off Steam, the popular PC game store. This means that no one else will be able to purchase the viral game that became a sensation among streamers and other content creators.

But what happened? The developer explained that they are stressed and ready to leave this game behind and forget about it. This is so they can rest and start the next chapter of their career with a new game. "The game has kept me stressed all these months, and now I want to forget it. The game won't be available on the Steam store soon; that's what I decided. What I need now is peace and healing," they explained.

But why did they get stressed if their game was an unexpected success that surely made them a lot of money? First, because the game got involved in a copyright scandal that forced it to disappear from Steam for a while. Later, the developer was widely criticized for promoting NFTs. So, it seems that the stress from this situation took its toll.

What do you think about this situation? Do you think SCKR Games did the right thing by removing Only Up! from Steam? Share your thoughts in the comments.
