Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was featured in the latest State of Play event, where it was confirmed that the game will arrive on PlayStation 5 on February 29. Similar to Final Fantasy VII Remake, this new installment is only a timed exclusive, but for how long will it remain exclusive?

Shortly after the State of Play event ended, a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released on various social media platforms. In the trailer, Square Enix confirmed that it will initially be available exclusively on PlayStation 5 but will have a period of exclusivity that ends on May 29, 2024.

What does this mean? It means that the exclusivity of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PlayStation 5 will last for only 3 months.

However, this doesn't necessarily mean that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be available on other platforms right away on that date. It simply means that Square Enix can start discussing potential ports to other consoles from that day onwards. So, the wait for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on other platforms may still be longer.

Which platforms will Final Fantasy VII Rebirth be available on?

So, which platforms will Final Fantasy VII Rebirth be released on? As of now, the only confirmed platform is PlayStation 5.

That said, if we look at what happened with Final Fantasy VII Remake, it's highly likely that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will also come to PC eventually. Additionally, there are rumors that we might see Remake on the successor to the Nintendo Switch, so a port of Rebirth wouldn't be out of the question. On the other hand, it wouldn't be surprising to see it on Xboxas well, especially since Square Enix and Microsoft have committed to improving their relationship.

The reality is that the future of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on platforms other than PlayStation 5 is still uncertain. We'll keep an eye out for more details on its multi-platform release.
