Final Fantasy VII Remake expanded on the events of the original Final Fantasy VII first disc and turned it into an adventure that lasts nearly as long. It appears that with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Square Enix wanted to take things to another level as it will be an adventure that offers us almost 100 hours of gameplay.
After the release date of Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth was revealed, Square Enix shared statements from some of the project's key creatives. Among them are words from Naoki Hamaguchi, the project's director, who assured that it would be a massive adventure.
According to Hamaguchi, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will have open areas for free exploration, as well as various minigames, side stories, and powerful enemies. Thus, between the main campaign and the secondary content, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be an experience that will take you almost 100 hours to complete.
"While the main storyline is bigger and more ambitious than the previous game’s narrative, FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH also embraces the concept of "free exploration," with compelling stories, fun mini-games, powerful monsters and so much more to find throughout the world map. We hope you will explore this world in great detail, as nearly 100 hours of adventure await. We hope you will take this new FINAL FANTASY game experience in your own hands to enjoy", Hamaguchi said.
So, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth seems to be shaping up as a massive game that will keep you hooked for a good while. However, it remains to be seen whether the secondary content lives up to the promises of quality. Otherwise, few may be inclined to complete it 100% to unlock its Platinum trophy.
