The President of Activision Talks About How Microsoft Will Support the Company Post-Acquisition

The purchase of Activision Blizzard King by Microsoft is close to being finalized. Although Activision will continue to operate almost independently without interference from Microsoft, it is true that the deal will be beneficial, and the President of Activision has just indicated how Microsoft's support will be reflected, particularly in Call of Duty.

Activision has significant plans for the franchise; in fact, they have just revealed a roadmap for the next 4 years of releases. Obviously, each is expected to be better than the previous one, and it seems that it won't be so challenging with Microsoft's acquisition.

How Will Call of Duty Improve Thanks to Microsoft's Acquisition?

We say this because the President of Activision, Rob Kostich, spoke about the almost inevitable acquisition of Activision by Microsoft and hinted at how this deal will impact Call of Duty.

Certainly, the effects will be positive, as Activision would have access to Microsoft's resources that will undoubtedly enhance the development of its franchise catalog in the current "hypercompetitive environment."

"Being able to leverage Microsoft's technology and toolset would benefit our teams to create even bigger and more immersive experiences for our players," Kostich commented in an interview with VentureBeat. "In the end, it's about bringing to life the creative visions of our development team in this hypercompetitive environment."

The executive also reiterated his intention to bring their franchises to more platforms and players. However, he is not declaring victory yet, as he knows that the regulatory process to approve the acquisition is not yet complete, so he mentioned that they have to let it run its course.

"The prospect of joining Microsoft is an extraordinary opportunity for our team and our players, and we look forward to a resolution soon," the executive concluded.
