Xbox Game Pass: Call of Duty and More Activision Blizzard Games Coming to the Service, When?

The company discussed its plans to add its titles to Microsoft's program.

The acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft is imminent, and everything indicates that the deal could be finalized sooner rather than later. As expected, expectations are high, and the community is already dreaming of seeing Call of Duty installments and other titles from the company on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. On that front, there is interesting news.

A few weeks ago, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, provided an interview where he revealed that Activision Blizzard games would take some time to arrive on Xbox Game Pass, even if the acquisition is successful.

Now, it's the company responsible for franchises like Call of Duty, Diablo, and many more that addressed the issue and spoke about the possibility of adding its video games to the successful subscription service.

When Will Call of Duty, Diablo IV, and More Activision Blizzard Games Arrive on Xbox Game Pass?

Through a social media post, the company led by Bobby Kotick confirmed that they will begin bringing their video games to Game Pass when the acquisition is finalized. However, this process will start at some point in 2024, so fans will need to be patient.

After expressing joy about the anticipation surrounding the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Activision confirmed that they are still working to get regulatory approval for the deal with Microsoft. Also, they confirmed that fans should not expect the new CoD installment and Diablo IV to arrive on the service this year.

“While we have no plans to include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III or Diablo IV in Game Pass this year, once the deal is closed, we will begin working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players worldwide. We anticipate starting to add games to Game Pass at some point next year,” the company explained in its statement.

In the message, Activision refrained from revealing which titles it plans to bring to Microsoft's subscription service in 2024. Although it is possible that CoD: Modern Warfare III and Diablo IV are among them, it is also possible that the company opts for older installments of these franchises or even smaller titles like Crash Bandicoot or Spyro. At this point, it is mere speculation.

Despite these statements, Jez Corden, editor of Windows Central, indicated that, according to his sources, there is a possibility that Activision will start releasing titles on Xbox Game Pass as soon as the acquisition is finalized.
