Microsoft finalized the deal and acquired the company responsible for Call of Duty and more

After months of controversy, investigations, and legal battles, the big day has finally arrived. After receiving approval from the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), Microsoft officially completed the acquisition of Activision Blizzard King. This raises a crucial question: which franchises now become the property of Xbox?

Undoubtedly, the company led by Bobby Kotick is known for having some of the most popular and significant intellectual properties in the PC and console gaming industry, from Call of Duty to Warcraft.

Of course, it is a mistake to ignore the importance of the mobile and tablet market. On the side of King, the company is home to one of the most lucrative mobile games on the market: Candy Crush.

Therefore, the acquisition of Activision Blizzard King is undoubtedly one of the most significant financial moves in the technology sector's entire history.

Which Activision Blizzard franchises belong to Microsoft and Xbox?

Just like Bethesda in 2021, the studios and franchises of Activision Blizzard King will now become the property of Microsoft. In this way, as discussed over a year ago, the Xbox house will strengthen its portfolio with new development companies and prominent franchises.

When will Activision Blizzard games come to Xbox Game Pass?

Although knowing that these sagas are now under the Microsoft umbrella is more than enough to excite die-hard fans of the brand, many still have a big question. When will the titles arrive on the Xbox Game Pass service?

In a statement, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, stated that they are already working to bring the company's games to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. However, it seems that fans will have to exercise patience.

A few days ago, Activision Blizzard hinted that it would not immediately bring its game library to Xbox Game Pass. Examples include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Diablo IV, which will be absent from the service, at least for this year.

But tell us, are you excited about the purchase? Which franchises do you think Microsoft should bring back? Let us know in the comments.
