A fan made interesting discoveries within Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1

After years without new Metal Gear games, Konami surprised with the return of the franchise through a remake and a compilation, and new clues indicate that it may fulfill the desire to play the most fan-service-rich installment of the series on Xbox and other modern systems.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 debuted today, including Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as well as graphic novels and more digital collectibles, along with hints of the games that would make up future volumes.

We know this thanks to a Reddit user who explored the files within the collection and found a function that allows viewing information related to volume 1, as well as references to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and Metal Gear Solid V (it wasn't specified whether Ground Zeroes or The Phantom Pain) that can be found even in the manual.

These findings add to the evidence that users found on the collection's website, which hinted at the possibility of these games appearing in a subsequent edition.

Metal Gear Solid 4 may finally come to Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC

While the continuation of this compilation is almost a certainty for many, and it's obvious to talk about a second volume, it's essential to mention that Konami has not spoken about it so far.

What is genuinely significant is the possible addition of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, as it would be the first time the title leaves PlayStation consoles.

In case you didn't know, since its release in 2008, it has only been possible to play this title on PlayStation 3, either through the original game or through Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection. Furthermore, this title and the others hinted at would, for the first time, come to Nintendo consoles.

For these reasons, many fans expressed their excitement for Konami to confirm this.
