Fans of The Legend of Zelda have been speculating for months what the next big step will be for the franchise. Some believe Nintendo will go for more remasters or remakes of the saga as it prepares Link's next main adventure.
A recent hint set off alarm bells for gamers, as one of the industry's most renowned analysts suggested that a game in the saga could be revealed very soon. In a mysterious publication, Serkan Toto hinted that we will know something about the franchise before the end of the year.
The Legend of Zelda project could be revealed very soon
Serkan Toto, executive manager of KantanGames, posted a short message on social media that puzzled many gamers. It simply read "ZR 2023", something that caught the attention of gamers.
Some people recalled that Toto had already posted a similar message some time ago. To be exact, this happened in 2021, when the analyst wrote "Z2 22" and shared an image hinting that a Nintendo Direct was near.
According to gamers, the message referred to Zelda 2, namely The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to Breath of the Wild which was reportedly initially planned for 2022.
For such reason, fans of the saga believe that Toto is hinting in his new message the announcement of a remaster or remake of some The Legend of Zelda for this year. Many are betting that there will be news in December, in the framework of The Game Awards 2023.
However, the reality is that nothing has been confirmed, as the analyst did not reveal any further details. In fact, he recently deleted both messages from his social networks. Due to his reputation, many trust Toto's lead, while other fans prefer not to get their hopes up.
The community speculates that Nintendo could bet on a port of The Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. Currently there is also talk of another possible remake in the style of Link's Awakening. However, we emphasize that nothing is confirmed.
