The Five Nights at Freddy's movie is now showing in theaters in Mexico, the United States, Latin America, and other regions. As we are on Halloween night, the official Rick and Morty social media accounts wanted to pay tribute to this production with a parody.

To celebrate October 31st, the Adult Swim show's social media accounts posted an image that features various characters from the TV series. Of course, fans immediately noticed that it is a reference to the official poster of the film adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy's.

The image has the same composition as the horror movie's promotional poster. However, instead of the terrifying animatronics, we see Rick and Morty characters.

At the front, we see Scary Terry, the Freddy Krueger parody who first appeared in the second episode of the first season of the animated series. Next, we see Meeseeks and Frundles, who are recurring characters. Finally, there are Frankenstein and the Predator. The joking text reads "Five Nights at Terry's," a clear reference to the horror video game.

Parodies of Five Nights at Freddy's

Interestingly, this is not the first time that a company has referenced the film starring Josh Hutcherson and Piper Rubio. In line with the theatrical release, the official Sonic the Hedgehog account parodied the official poster with the blue hedgehog's characters.

On the other hand, the famous restaurant chain Chuck E. Cheese's capitalized on the Five Nights at Freddy's movie to carry out a promotional event known as Five Nights of Fun, where consumers could win rewards and take advantage of special offers.

Considering that the horror film based on Scott Cawthon's game is a success in the international box office, it is not surprising that companies want to capitalize on the enthusiasm surrounding it. It is very likely that in the coming days, we will see more parodies.

The Five Nights at Freddy's movie arrived in Mexican theaters at the end of October. Although it received unfavorable reviews from critics, it managed to captivate fans of the video game with its easter eggs and references.

While it is unknown whether this production will have a sequel, director Emma Tammi acknowledged that there are loose ends that could be tied up in a second installment.

But tell us, what do you think of the Rick and Morty parody? Let us know in the comments.
