We have some very interesting news related to The Legend of Zelda, as a well-known insider has just shared information that claims an animated movie in the franchise is on the way.
As you probably know, it was on November 7th when the entire industry trembled with excitement upon learning that Nintendo is preparing a live-action movie in the saga. Very little is known about this project, and fans are already suggesting different actors to play Link and Zelda.
Now, the well-known insider Zippo has just shared details about another project related to the franchise, which, according to him, is an animated movie of The Legend of Zelda, similar to what we saw with Super Mario Bros. The Movie.
The information can be found on Zippo's blog, where the insider has previously provided details that came true, increasing his credibility. This time, he shared that the animated movie of The Legend of Zelda is an independent project from the live-action adaptation.
Furthermore, he claims that the film will be produced by Illumination Studios and that its producer will be Eiji Aonuma, not Shigeru Miyamoto. If that weren't enough, it seems that Nintendo and Universal Pictures already have a director in mind, and the creative team will be composed of members from the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy from Dreamworks.
It's worth mentioning that, despite all the times Zippo has predicted announcements, everything is still just a rumor, so these details should be taken for what they are, and we'll have to wait until Nintendo decides to share something about it.
For now, the only official information is that a live-action movie of The Legend of Zelda is in production with the talent of Shigeru Miyamoto; Avi Arad, head of the production house Arad Productions Inc.; directed by Wes Ball; and funded by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc..
