The Legend of Zelda: Miyamoto confesses how long he has been working on the movie

It seems things are taking their time in the Nintendo project

One of the highlights of the week was undoubtedly the confirmation of the live-action movie for The Legend of Zelda, and details continue to emerge, giving us an idea of what to expect in the future. Now, the project leaders revealed how long they have been working on it.

As you may recall, Nintendo's film is already in production with the talent of Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad, head of the production house Arad Productions Inc. Additionally, it will be directed by Wes Ball and financed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc.

Now, Miyamoto shared some words on the matter during the company's latest financial results meeting and confessed that he has been planning the movie for about a decade:

“We face the challenge of producing a movie that does not disappoint the global fan base. With this challenge in mind, I have been discussing the project with Avi Arad, president of Arad Productions Inc., for about 10 years. Movies are like games in the sense that you need to dedicate a lot of time to work on them until you come up with something you are satisfied with. Therefore, movies need sponsors who can provide full support until their completion. For the production of our movies, Nintendo itself acts as a sponsor. To produce the movie, we were able to gather a group of people willing to dedicate time to production until we come up with something we feel confident about,” said the creative.

As you could see, it seems that Nintendo has had the project in mind for a long time and will take the necessary time to release a feature film worthy of a saga like The Legend of Zelda.

It is worth noting that some clues suggest that the movie will take the plot from The Legend Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, although nothing is written at the moment.

We will keep an eye out to inform you of any updates related to the live-action movie of The Legend of Zelda. In the meantime, we invite you to learn more about Hyrule in this link.
