Despite some players having the opportunity to enjoy the single-player campaign in advance, the official release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III took place on November 10. Unfortunately, the reception from critics and fans is, at the moment, quite negative. The reviews allowed it to break a negative record for the franchise.
Since its mid-year reveal, the new installment in Activision's saga has been in the public eye and subject to a multitude of criticisms. Some in the community expressed fear that it would be a $70 USD premium DLC, while other players criticized the campaign during early access.
Now that the official release is here, it seems that the multiplayer component and the zombies mode were unable to change the negative perception of the fanbase.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is now one of the worst-rated games of 2023
After the release, the first reviews from franchise fans and the press began to emerge. Unfortunately, they were quite negative. At this moment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III holds a score of 54 from professional critics with 32 reviews, while it has a rating of 1.4 on the user side.
Sadly, the project led by Sledgehammer Games is already the main installment of the Activision franchise with the lowest rating in history. Similarly, it is one of the worst-rated games of 2023 to date, even below Forspoken (64) and Redfall (56).

A few days ago, a report from Jason Schreier, one of the most reliable sources in the video game industry, emphasized that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was developed in 16 months in a climate of urgency and crunch. Later, Sledgehammer Games responded to those reports and defended the game.
