Fortnite surprised this year by expanding its gaming platform proposal and adding game modes that go beyond the traditional Battle Royale. The creators of Rocket League, Psyonix, introduced Rocket Racing, while Harmonix, the minds behind Rock Band, did the same with Fortnite Festival. This time, the focus is on the musical mode, as it aims for a dreamy 2024.
Harmonix Aims for Fortnite Festival to Have Thousands of Songs
During an interview with Game Informer (via Insider-Gaming), Alex Rigopolous, head of Harmonix, talked about everything that is coming to Fortnite Festival in 2024. The executive is aware of the criticisms against this mode, which currently looks a bit lackluster with few songs and the absence of support for plastic instruments. However, the plans are ambitious because these game modes are permanent and will grow over time.
Regarding Fortnite Festival, Alex Rigopolous mentioned that next year they will add hundreds of songs because the goal is to have thousands in rotation. In case you didn't know, Fortnite Festival updates its catalog every week, but it also gives users the option to pay real money to add songs to their account and have them available at all times.

Fortnite Festival Will Support Guitar Hero and Rock Band Instruments
On the other hand, the issue of instruments will be addressed, as the Harmonix executive assured that, although they and Epic Games do not create plastic instruments, they are aware of companies interested in this renewed market niche. The expectation is that there will soon be different instruments with support for Fortnite Festival.
However, the best news is that the Fortnite Festival development team is working to ensure support for most legacy instruments from franchises like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, so it's time to dust them off and give them a new life.
