Unfortunately, some fans cross the line and take their passion for a video game to dangerous and unpleasant extremes. Recently, the model behind Mary Jane in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 had to speak out on social media to ask for respect from the community.

Through a story on her personal Instagram account, Stephanie Tyler Jones, who was the facial model for Mary Jane in Insomniac Games' video game, reported that she is a victim of harassment by some followers. While she appreciates the support of the fanbase and the positive response the character received, she states that some people are crossing the line.

"Over the weekend, some followers crossed the line. One even went so far as to call my place of work and leave several voicemails because he wanted to talk to me and requested that I call him back, which is unacceptable and considered harassment," commented the model.

Stephanie Tyler Jones explains in her post that she stopped actively auditioning as an actress and model, so the photo shoots she participates in are a "creative outlet" and a way to collaborate with her friends. She also has a skincare product project that apparently caught the attention of video game fans.

"My skincare page is not for Spider-Man or MJ fans. The bottom line is that I arrived at work this morning and immediately felt insecure and uncomfortable when I heard those voicemails. Please respect that I am a human being trying to make a living like you," said the actress.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time a model has been a victim of harassment from the community. Last year, Eduard Badaluta, who lent his face to Leon S. Kennedy in the Resident Evil remakes, lashed out against fan accounts.

But tell us, what do you think of this situation? Let us hear your thoughts in the comments.
