What is Monsters: Dragon's Hell about?

It is important to mention that, before writing the story of Luffy, Oda published some shorts that were important for the creation of what everyone knows as One Piece. One of them was Monsters, where the origins of Shimotsuki Ryuma (a samurai who fought against Zoro in Thriller Bark) are shown.

Here is the synopsis of the anime:

"Ryuma is a samurai who arrives in the city with no money and an empty stomach. Luckily, Flare, a waitress from a restaurant, saves him by giving him food, and while he's asking how he can repay her, the warrior is touched by a sword and sees it as a challenge. After Flare stops the fight, Ryuma discovers that his rival's past and the waitress who saved him are connected by the attack of a mysterious dragon."

Monsters: Dragon's Hell will arrive exclusively on Netflix on January 22.
