Final Fantasy VII Remake remains a PlayStation exclusive on consoles. For quite some time there has been speculation of its possible arrival on Xbox; however, nothing has happened despite the company already improving its relationship with Square Enix.
A new report has Xbox fans excited, as a reliable source suggested that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be coming to the brand's ecosystem sooner or later. While there is nothing official for now, negotiations to make it happen are reportedly underway.

According to Jez Corden, a reporter for Windows Central, there is evidence that Square Enix and Xbox are negotiating a possible port of Final Fantasy VII Remake. The title is currently available on PlayStation and PC; however, it remains absent from other platforms.
“I got evidence tentatively that there are discussions about Final Fantasy VII for Xbox. But I do agree with you that [Sony and Square Enix both] wouldn't want to take the shine of Rebirth right now by releasing Final Fantasy VII Remake for Xbox, but I do think that it will happen," Corden stated on the most recent episode of the Xbox Two podcast.
As you can imagine, his statements drew a lot of attention from Xbox fans. Especially since several reports claim that PlayStation is doing its best to keep certain games of the saga from coming to Microsoft consoles.
Xbox recently got Final Fantasy XIV, but was left without Final Fantasy XVI and, of course, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth isn't expected to be available on their systems for now either. The second part of the remake will also debut exclusively for PlayStation 5.
Corden didn't reveal any more information on the matter, so for now we'll have to keep waiting for further details on the matter. Months ago, there was a report of a possible port of the remake for X|S Series and even for the Switch successor, but some insiders claimed that it was not entirely accurate.
