Is Palworld a scam and will it be abandoned? Studio reassures fans

Those interested in the "Pokémon with weapons" concept have doubts about the project's future.

The video game industry can deliver great products and experiences, but there are also studios that take advantage to defraud users. Sometimes it's challenging to distinguish between genuine games and promising indies. For this reason, some people have approached Palworld with skepticism, but its studio wants to make it clear that they have no intention of scamming players.

Palworld is not a scam but a real game

Through the official Q&A section of the game, it is made clear that Palworld is a legitimate game and not a scam or an MMO looking to exploit players' goodwill for money or a "virtual currency" title.

"It's not a scam, and it will definitely be released on January 19," the Pocketpair studio stated.

In other words, Palworld will indeed see the light of day, not like Abandoned, and it will continue to function after its release, not like The Day Before, which left its followers hanging with the hope of a product different from what was advertised, a genuine scam.

In fact, by the time you read this, Palworld may already be available on Xbox and PC in Early Access.

Even though it's not the final product, the project's developers want players to feel at ease because once they buy their copy, no one will take it away, and it's theirs "forever." Players can enjoy it as it's a "typical Steam game" that, while featuring online multiplayer, also offers a single-player mode.

However, Pocketpair left open the possibility of developing expansions for the title, but it's something that will be decided on the go.

Will Palworld have post-launch content? How many years of support will it receive?

Moreover, the studio did not rule out the possibility of adding cross-play functionality between Xbox and PC, and they will also consider a port for PlayStation.

As for what Pocketpair has confirmed they're working on, it's a PvP (player versus player) mode, something they are still testing internally and will share news as soon as it's available.

Specifically, Pocketpair assured that they will continue updating the game and confirmed that, for now, they are planning 1 year of support and will provide detailed plans shortly after the release.
