Gamers have been asking for years for a re-release or sequel to Bloodborne; however, nothing has happened. In the meantime, some of its fans have been working on interesting projects to keep the franchise active. One of the most striking is Bloodborne Kart.

The title that mixes the universe of the franchise with the mechanics of Mario Kart was to debut in a few days, but suffered an unexpected delay. To everyone's surprise, it was due to Sony, which contacted the project's creator to try to slow it down. Fortunately, the developer was already ready in case this happened.

Sony takes action against Bloodborne Kart

Lilith Walther, creator of Bloodborne PSX and Bloodborne Kart, delivered bad news to her followers via social media. She reported that Sony contacted her to request that she stop using the Bloodborne brand on her projects.

As you can imagine, the developer wants to avoid any legal conflict with the company, so decided to delay its new racing game to make a few changes. Fortunately, Walther stated that it was already prepared for this, so it will make minor adjustments and change the name of the game to release it.

"Sony contacted me. Long story short I need to scrub the branding off of what was previously known as Bloodborne Kart, which we will do. But that requires a short delay. Don't worry, the game is still coming out! It'll just look slightly different," said the developer.

Walther added that she is not surprised by Sony's move and stressed that she will share more information about the game's release soon. That said, fans interested in this peculiar project will have to wait a bit longer to enjoy it and learn about the changes that will be made to it.

During its debut, the title will offer 12 drivers, 16 tracks, a single-player campaign, a local multiplayer mode with split-screen and a mode to fight against other players.
