It is very likely that in 2024 there will be news about the successor to the Nintendo Switch, but the hybrid console's catalog continues to grow. In addition to exclusive titles and contemporary games, it also receives ports of older releases. With this in mind, a clue excited fans who want to play one of the most popular experiences from the PS4 and Xbox One generation.
The Sims 4 received criticism upon its original release in 2014, but managed to turn things around to become one of fans' favorite titles thanks to updates that added new content, features, and characteristics over the years.
The game from Electronic Arts and Maxis Studios abandoned the premium model and became free-to-play in 2022, allowing more players to enjoy it on all platforms.
Currently, this proposition is only available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Therefore, it caught attention when a version for the Nintendo Switch was mentioned on the EA website. Could the life simulation game be coming to the hybrid console? Unfortunately, it was a misunderstanding.
No plans for The Sims 4 on Nintendo Switch
Recently, users discovered that if they searched for the game on Google, the first result was the official Electronic Arts page. What's so special about that? The thing is, the description on the website said that the free-to-play title is available for PC and all consoles, including the Nintendo Switch.
Fans believed that this clue suggested a port for the hybrid console was on the way. Unfortunately, the developers confirmed that it was an error.

In response to a user on social media, the franchise's official account confirmed that the information in the search results was incorrect and that there are currently no plans to bring The Sims 4 to Nintendo Switch. Indeed, the mention of the hybrid console has been removed.
"Oops! We updated that information as it seems to be an error in the search data. The Sims 4 is not available, and there are no plans for a release on Nintendo Switch," the company said.

Some previous entries in the franchise debuted for Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo GameCube, so fans are disappointed with this news. Hopefully, there is a chance that this or the next title in the series will come to Nintendo's new hardware.
