It's time to upgrade your computer operating system

Late last year, Rockstar Games made a very important announcement for its PC gamers. In case you don't remember, the company confirmed that its titles would lose support on certain operating systems at the end of January 2024.

No deadline is missed and the day has passed, so millions of computers can no longer run the studio's popular titles. Specifically, we are talking about computers running Windows 7 and Windows 8, operating systems that Rockstar decided to leave in the past.

You can no longer enjoy Rockstar games on Windows 7 and 8

Rockstar recently released an update for its PC launcher. With it, it put an end to support for Windows 7 and 8. If your computer has any of these operating systems, don't be surprised if you can no longer run GTA V, GTA Online, Red Dead Redemption 2, The GTA Trilogy and more of the studio's titles.

You have no alternative to avoid this, as the launcher will automatically update when you open it. So, it's not that your PC has problems or there are inconveniences with the installation of your games, it's that you simply won't be able to run them.

The only option is to update your computer's operating system to a newer one, such as Windows 10 or Windows 11. It is worth remembering that Valve also stopped supporting older operating systems, so you will probably also have problems enjoying Rockstar games on Steam.

The developer took the opportunity to release some stability improvements to its launcher and fix some minor bugs with the update. It also thanked players for their understanding and recommended them to update their system.
