It is believed that Ubisoft's tarnished reputation affected the game in the market.

Despite the precarious and tense situation prevailing at Ubisoft, the Montpellier studio managed to release a title that stood out with a renewed proposal, an original touch, and won over both critics and players: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Unfortunately, the reality in the market is different, as the game has failed commercially, selling only a few hundred thousand copies.

The new Prince of Persia has only sold 300,000 copies

According to a report from Insider-Gaming that breaks down the current crisis at Ubisoft and its studios, it was revealed that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has not had the expected reception in the market. It is noted that the game that brought back this forgotten franchise has barely sold 300,000 copies and has only generated $15 million, figures that would not be meeting the expectations of the French company. The low sales are also regretted because it is considered a good game that received recognition from the community.

From a general perspective, anonymous Ubisoft employees believe that the extremely low sales numbers in this and other cases are related to the negative perception of Ubisoft, and players no longer trust the company or its products. In that regard, they lament that this situation has negatively impacted Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a title that, if it doesn't pick up in sales, will likely remain a one-off work, and its concept may be shelved and possibly forgotten.

Additionally, it is noteworthy that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was released on all consoles and PC, covering the spectrum of available systems, and yet the results were unfavorable.
