The popular saga is now in the hands of Microsoft after the purchase of Activision Blizzard

Microsoft spent millions of dollars to buy Activision Blizzard and gain control of popular franchises such as Call of Duty. Gamers are counting down the days for the saga to hit Xbox Game Pass; however, this may not happen according to statements from a reputed insider that alarmed many fans.

During the most recent edition of the Gamers Council podcast, insider Timdog worried Xbox gamers with his statements. According to his sources, Call of Duty would be left out of Xbox Game Pass despite already being in Microsoft's hands.

The reason? He argues that this decision is related to Microsoft's alleged change in strategy, which would also involve bringing important Xbox exclusives to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. It is important to stress that this is still a rumor and has not been confirmed by the tech giant.

"I heard that even Call of Duty is not going to come to Game Pass; that's one of their brilliant ideas," sarcastically stated the insider who is apparently not happy with Microsoft's alleged strategy either.

For many, this report makes no sense, as bringing the popular franchise to Xbox Game Pass would be one of the most effective ways to boost the service and its number of subscribers in the long run. Timdog did not elaborate on his statements, so it is not entirely clear what the reasons for not bringing the franchise to the platform would be.

Although TImdog has proven to be reliable with some of its reports, we recommend you to take this information as a simple rumor. Call of Duty is one of the most popular franchises in the industry, so its arrival on Xbox Game Pass makes all the sense in the world.

If in the end it doesn't debut on the service, then we'll have to wait for Microsoft to give an explanation on the matter and detail what their plans are for the future of Activision's franchise.
