Helldivers 2 is already the best-selling game on Steam and surpasses Palworld
Helldivers 2 debuts tomorrow, February 8, on PS5 and PC, and hours before its release, it is already making headlines as it has surpassed Palworld in the list of best-selling games on Steam. At the time of writing this note, the multiplayer shooter is in the third position among the best-sellers, only below PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and Counter-Strike 2, which are free-to-play but are there due to the sale of in-game content. However, in some markets, such as the United States, Helldivers 2 reached the top of Steam.
Helldivers 2 is a third-person team-based multiplayer shooter with a futuristic war theme in an intergalactic conflict. It is developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, hence its simultaneous release on PS5 and PC. Perhaps Sony has found the key to multiplayer and games as a service that it has been seeking.
The description of Helldivers 2 on Steam states: "It is a third-person team-based shooter where the elite forces of the Helldivers fight to win an intergalactic conflict and free the galaxy from growing alien threats. From a third-person perspective, players use various weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and eliminate enemy forces."
