Reliable source spoke about the future of the brand in terms of hardware

In recent days, we've had quite a bit of news about Xbox and its future. Various reports claim that the company has no plans to abandon the hardware, but to make some adjustments to its development strategy for its next console.

According to various sources, the next Xbox will not be developed by Jason Ronald and his team, responsible for Xbox Series X|S, but by the team in charge of the Surface line. Well, Jez Corden, a journalist for Windows Central, claimed that this is false.

Surface would not take over the next-gen Xbox

Insider Nick Baker claimed that Microsoft would bet on the Surface team to develop its next hardware lineup that will supposedly have a desktop console like Xbox Series X|S and a Switch-like portable system.

Jez Corden was quick to join this conversation and give his point of view. He stated that the report is not true for one simple reason: the Surface team has been involved in the development of Microsoft consoles for some time now.

"It's also not true. Surface has been contributing to Xbox since Xbox One S. This was non-news," the journalist claimed. Despite his statements, Corden did not clarify what will happen with the company's future hardware and whether Jason Ronald will be at the helm.

The initial report generated doubts in some gamers, as they feared that Surface's approach was not the right one for a next-generation console. However, everything indicates that this team will not be the main responsible for its development, but contributions are not ruled out as in past generations.

It is important to note that all this information is unofficial, as Microsoft has not yet revealed details about the creation of its next hardware. While there are leaks about it, the company has not spoken on the subject either.
