Rockstar's move impacted PS4 and Xbox One users

There's some bad news for gamers still enjoying Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Rockstar Games recently released an update that removes a feature from the game forever on those platforms. So you will lose access to it as soon as you update to version 1.006.002.

In case you don't remember, Rockstar announced earlier this year that Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online would lose access to Rockstar Editor on PS4 and Xbox One. The time has come, as the company released update 1.006.002 today.

In addition to resolving some bugs and adding new features for voice chat moderation, the company disabled the Rockstar Editor for good on both consoles. This is a tool that allowed players to record their games and then edit and share the videos.

The studio decided to remove the feature in order to better focus on other updates for both systems. Due to the above, it informed players that they can back up their created material by linking their Rockstar Games account with their YouTube account.

It is also very important to mention that the Rockstar Editor remains intact on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Thus, the feature continues to operate normally on current generation consoles and computers.

Si bien el Rockstar Editor no era una función utilizada por todos, sin duda al menos uno que otro jugador extrañará usarla en PS4 y Xbox One. La buena noticia es que el estudio le seguirá dando soporte a esta versión de su popular título.
