Xbox Exclusives Set to Become Non-Exclusive: These Blockbusters are Coming to PS4, PS5, and Switch

Microsoft has confirmed the first 4 titles that will be making their way to competitor platforms.

The new business strategy of Xbox has undoubtedly been one of the most talked-about topics in recent weeks. Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Matt Booty addressed the reports in a special podcast and confirmed that only 4 games from the brand will no longer be exclusive. Fortunately, the wait was short, and we now know which titles will be available on competing consoles.

The storm began a few weeks ago when rumors suggested that Indiana Jones, Starfield, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, and more titles would arrive on other platforms. There were even reports claiming that games from Halo and Gears of War, two of Microsoft's most important franchises, would no longer be exclusive.

After some fans sold their Xbox Series X|S and many content creators turned their backs on the company in protest, Xbox executives responded to the reports and revealed that only 4 of their games are on their way to Switch and PlayStation.

In the podcast, Phil Spencer refrained from naming these games but suggested that the announcement was very close. Indeed, this week, it was revealed which exclusives will land on Nintendo and Sony consoles.

Here are the Xbox exclusives coming to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch

In a blog post on the company's official website, Matt Booty sent a message to the community, putting an end to the mystery and revealing that Grounded, Pentiment, Hi-Fi RUSH, and Sea of Thieves will be the first Xbox exclusives available on competing consoles.

The first game on the list is Pentiment, the acclaimed narrative game from the prestigious studio Obsidian Entertainment. This title, immediately noticeable for its intriguing story and beautiful visual style inspired by ancient paintings, will arrive on PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch on February 22.

The second Xbox title is Hi-Fi RUSH, the popular musical hack and slash from Tango Gameworks and Bethesda Softworks. After many rumors, it was finally confirmed to land on PlayStation 5 on March 19. At the moment, it is unknown if a Nintendo Switch port is also in the works.

The third Xbox game to lose its exclusivity is Grounded, the cooperative survival developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The release is imminent, as it will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on April 16. Good news is that it will have crossplay, allowing players to venture with friends from all platforms without restrictions.

Finally, Sea of Thieves, the pirate multiplayer developed by Rare, will sail into foreign waters and arrive on PlayStation 5 on April 30. Like Grounded, it will have crossplay across all platforms.

These are the Xbox games that will no longer be exclusive and will arrive on PlayStation and Nintendo:

  • Pentiment (PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch) ― February 22
  • Hi-Fi RUSH (PS5) ― March 19
  • Grounded (PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch) ― April 16
  • Sea of Thieves (PS5) ― April 30

But tell us, what do you think of the lineup that is on its way to PlayStation and Nintendo? Would you like more Xbox games to no longer be exclusive? Let us know in the comments.
