A way to make your gaming experience even more immersive

Video games are one of the most interactive and immersive forms of entertainment out there. One company wants to take this one level further with GameScent, a device that will allow gamers to smell the world of their favorite titles.

It's an artificial intelligence-powered accessory that releases scents depending on what's happening on gamers' screens. GameScent will include a small range of scents at launch, but will later offer more for an additional cost.

Video games are a sensory experience that normally stimulates our sight and hearing. With GameScent, games can now also be enjoyed with smell. The device uses real-time audio signals to release certain programmed scents, depending on what is happening on screen.

Initially, it will have scents of forest, storm, clean air, explosions, firearms and racing. Later, it will offer another range of scents that will be sold separately. GameScent uses interchangeable cartridges and also has a neutralizer to eliminate all odors after a gaming session.

The device can be easily connected via HDMI. It is compatible with current consoles and PCs. It is also possible to use it with virtual reality headsets, which will undoubtedly take gaming immersion to a new level.

GameScent is sold in online stores for $149.99 USD. Its creators promised that they will release new fragrances very soon, among them will be the smells of freshly cut grass, blood, city and esports arena.

"Studies have shown that the sense of smell imprints in long-term memory more strongly than anything else. With GameScent, we're hoping to elevate gamers' experiences to be more exciting and memorable than they ever have been before", stated Casey Bunce, president of the company.
