Helldivers 2 is so successful that it already caught the attention of scammers. What happens is that several indie titles on Steam impersonated the popular Arrowhead game to try to trick gamers. To do so, they offered supposed copies of the sequel with attractive discounts of up to 75%, but it was all a scam.

Several indie games modified their images, their texts and every detail of their Steam page to match that of Helldivers 2. They subsequently offered purported copies of the game at a bargain price, ranging from $12.49 to $19.99 USD.

The indie titles in question are Sigurality and Do Not Smile, from SoleOnBoard Studio and Whitehole Games, respectively. It's striking that both titles debuted in November last year and changed their Steam pages on the same day.

They even used the names Arrowhead and PlayStation in their descriptions in an attempt to mislead users of Valve's platform. Fortunately, that company acted soon and removed both pages to prevent potential scams.

Johan Pilestedt, executive manager of Arrowhead, used his social networks to warn players of this scam. He recommended Steam users to always check the reviews section before purchasing a title to avoid being scammed.

This is not the first time something similar has happened on Steam. A few weeks ago, The Day Before reappeared on the platform; however, it was an indie game masquerading as the MMO in an attempt to trick players.
