A visit changed the perspective, and the Sony brand got to work

Stellar Blade is one of the most anticipated video games of the year and is an exclusive for PlayStation 5, thanks to the collaboration between SHIFT UP and Sony's gaming division. Also, it marks the South Korean company's first foray into consoles, made possible by a visit that changed the course of the project's history.

Stellar Blade started as a small project, but PlayStation turned it into something more ambitious

During an interview on Julien Chièze's YouTube channel (via Twisted Voxel), Kim Jong Tae, director of Stellar Blade, revealed that initially, the project's scale was smaller than what we know because the company was venturing into console development, an area in which they had no experience. However, in 2021, they received a visit from Shuhei Yoshida, head of independent projects at PlayStation, who, upon seeing the game and its potential, proposed a collaboration between Sony and SHIFT UP to move the project forward and turn it into a AAA production values proposition.

Regarding this, the director of Stellar Blade stated that after Yoshida's visit and the signing of the agreement between SHIFT UP and PlayStation, the development changed for the better; the scale became larger, and the project became more ambitious. This was also achieved because PlayStation immediately provided all the facilities, technology, and experts for the South Korean studio to work properly on PlayStation 5.

In related news, controversy arose for Stellar Blade after PlayStation accidentally released the demo, exciting fans with the possibility of getting a first look at this action, combat, and open-world game. Unfortunately, the excitement was short-lived as access to this trial was blocked, leaving fans disappointed.

Additionally, some of the outfits available for the protagonist of Stellar Blade were revealed, and the community quickly celebrated them for their visually appealing designs, which are part of the concept developed by SHIFT UP for this highly anticipated exclusive title for PS5.

Stellar Blade will debut on April 26th on PlayStation 5.
