Despite being one of the most popular streaming services for watching series and movies, Netflix aims to reach new audiences. With that goal in mind, it ventured into the world of video games with the Netflix Games initiative, which provides access to a library of titles to all subscribers. Now, one of the best releases of 2020 is available at no additional charge.
The Netflix video game offering generated little interest, but scored its first major success with the release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition in late 2023. The entertainment giant didn't back down and shortly after announced the inclusion of Sonic Mania Plus.
We already knew that more games would arrive in 2024. One of them is Hades, the acclaimed roguelike from Supergiant Games. After a short wait, it's now available.

Here's How to Download Hades for Free on iOS Thanks to Netflix
As ComicBook recalls, the GOTY-nominated game joined the service's catalog on March 19. As long as they maintain their subscription, users can download and play it completely free on mobile phones and tablets.
Unfortunately, and unlike other releases, the roguelike arrived exclusively on Apple's iOS devices, and a Netflix subscription is required to play it. Supergiant Games stated that there are currently no plans to bring the title to more mobile devices. This port was developed by Secret6.
On its support website, Netflix confirmed that Hades works on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch running iOS/iPadOS 17 or higher. It's now available at no extra cost via the App Store, and to download it, you only need an internet connection, an active subscription, and sufficient storage space to complete the installation.
For those unfamiliar, Hades is a roguelike developed by Supergiant Games. It debuted in 2020 after spending a couple of months in early access, and immediately received critical acclaim and player praise for its excellent combat system and captivating story. Thanks to its positive reception, it was nominated for GOTY at The Game Awards.
The development studio is already working on a sequel, but the release date and other details are unknown. Likewise, it's a mystery whether it will partner with Netflix again and release the second installment on the streaming service.
