Dragon Ball Super: Broly Could Have a New Transformation in the Manga

It seems the Saiyan warrior might become more effective in combat

With the absence of an anime, the official manga of Dragon Ball Super is a lifeline for those wishing to stay longer in the universe created by Akira Toriyama. Details of the new arc are unknown, but a clue from the latest chapter suggests that a very popular character will attain a new transformation.

Before we proceed, we warn that we will delve deep into the latest events of the franchise's manga. Thus, we will unveil all surprises.

Having debuted in the Dragon Ball Z era and served as the main antagonist in a trilogy of movies, Broly quickly became one of the most beloved characters. Although he was never part of the canon, in 2019, he was officially incorporated into the Dragon Ball Super story with a new animated feature film.

Since then, the Saiyan warrior has become a recurring character in Toyotaro's manga, having trained with Goku and Vegeta on the planet of Beerus, the God of Destruction. Though his involvement has been minimal so far, it seems he could play a more significant role in future arcs. This is hinted at in Chapter 103 of the manga.

Broly Might Gain a New Transformation in the Dragon Ball Super Manga

Similar to his original 1993 version, Broly goes berserk when he transforms into a Super Saiyan in the heat of battle. Although his power is immense in his Berserk state, he loses control and poses a latent danger to his friends. Hence, his training focuses on harnessing that fury so he can use his full power without losing control.

After defeating Cell Max and thwarting the plans of the Red Ribbon Army, Gohan traveled to Beerus's planet for a friendly match against his father. Broly watched in awe as he observed this battle, seemingly learning from Goku's son's new transformation.

Following the father vs. son fight, Beast Gohan tests his strength against Broly. In the heat of battle, the latter transforms into a Super Saiyan. Although it seemed he might lose control, one panel shows that his eyes did not completely turn white, suggesting he was able to unleash all his power without losing control.

Although Broly exerted all his strength, he was unable to match the experience and power of Beast Gohan. Shortly after, Vegeta interrupts the battle.

The manga of Dragon Ball Super has entered hiatus, meaning there won't be a new chapter in April. Therefore, fans will have to wait to find out if Broly masters his new transformation, which resembles the one achieved by Kale in the anime during the Tournament of Power arc.

Let's remember that the fighter from Universe 6 also lost control when transforming into a Super Saiyan but managed to harness her fury to focus her strength without losing control. Will something similar happen with Broly? It seems so.
