We're talking about a milestone in an era of rising in the industry and one of the games that came close to, or indeed achieved, perfection.
Final Fantasy VI Turns 30
The official Final Fantasy social media accounts remembered that on April 2, 1994, Final Fantasy VI was released on Super Famicom, the sixth installment of the Japanese JRPG franchise that became an immediate success and one of the best games ever created. This installment was directed by Yoshinori Kitase and Hiroyuki Ito with production by Hironobu Sakaguchi, artistic work by Tetsuya Takahashi, Tetsuya Nomura, Yoshitaka Amano, and music by Nobuo Uematsu.

Final Fantasy VI, known in America as Final Fantasy III on SNES due to some releases of the IP being absent in those years, presented a story in a world where Steampunk and magic converge, as well as featuring a large number of playable characters and a series of interconnected stories.
Final Fantasy VI is considered one of the high points of the JRPG genre and 2D game development in an era where the jump to 3D was not yet prominent. Praises came quickly, and there was no weak point to point out, hence securing its place in the exclusive list of the best video games of all time.
Moreover, Final Fantasy VI stands as a testament to an era of learning at Squaresoft since the release of the first title in the 1980s, with a creative team that leveraged the technology of their time to deliver an unforgettable work. Years later, Squaresoft would make the decision to transition to 3D with Final Fantasy VII, so it is considered that the title celebrating its 30th anniversary today marked a before and after for the Japanese company.
