Star Wars KOTOR: There Are Encouraging News About the Remake

Fans feared the worst after the Embracer debacle and the sale of Saber Interactive

The downfall of Embracer Group resulted in the sale of one of its most important companies: Saber Interactive. While the publishing and development company managed to weather this turbulent period well, doubts arose around their projects, especially the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Much speculation has been made about it, but there's good news.

What's Happening with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic? Saber Responds

During an interview with IGN, Matthew Karch, CEO of Saber Interactive, spoke about the development of the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, a project that fell into the hands of the company after the progress of Aspyr Media's work failed to meet expectations. According to the executive, the project is more alive than ever, and the development team is motivated to continue with it: "It's clear and obvious that we're working on this. Information has come out in the press about it, but what I'll say is that the game is alive and kicking, and we're working to make sure we exceed consumer expectations."

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Will Take Time to Arrive

Although it's good news that the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is alive, it can't be forgotten that its development was restarted after the scandal with Aspyr, so Saber Interactive has had to build this title from scratch, and it's likely that some years will pass before we hear about it.

Regarding this, during the sale of Saber Interactive, Lars Wingefors, CEO of Embracer, revealed that one of the joint investments that will be maintained between both companies is for "a AAA game inspired by a very important license," in this case, it would be Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. However, the executive pointed out that its release is still far away so we'll have to wait.
