Stellar Blade Director urges the West to see it as an action game and nothing more

During an interview with RuliWeb (via Genki JPN on X), Kim Hyung Tae, director of Stellar Blade, addressed the scandal that arose around the protagonist after the release of the free demo. Regarding this, the creative made it clear that he understands that the perspective, culture, and ideologies in the West are different from those in Asia and that creative works are critically influenced by elements such as gender, inclusion, and diversity. However, he mentioned that SHIFT UP's goal is for players to have fun because it's just an action game and nothing more.

Regarding this, Kim Hyung Tae stated: "I know that in the West, game characters have to be realistic in many ways and that there are numerous issues involved, such as racial and gender diversity. But Stellar Blade is just a cultural and entertainment work. I hope people see it as another fun action game that has been released."
