Fans celebrated the meeting of these 2 cultural icons.

Stellar Blade has stirred up a lot of discussion due to its abundance of fan service. Few studios, either presently or throughout the history of video games, dare to create titles of this nature, and now, two luminaries in this genre have come together.

SHIFT UP is gearing up for the release of Stellar Blade later this month, but the project director and head of the South Korean studio, Kim Hyung-Tae, carved out time in his schedule to visit the legendary Hideo Kojima.

The Japanese creative took to Twitter (X) to share several photos documenting the South Korean artist's visit to the studio this week.

As you can see below, Hyung-Tae posed alongside Kojima in the iconic hallway illuminated with the Ludens mascot in the background. Additionally, like other celebrities and creatives who visit Kojima Productions, Hyung-Tae left his signature on a mural within the studio.

Is Kojima Productions preparing a collaboration with SHIFT UP?

Hideo Kojima often invites various creatives and celebrities to his studio, though this doesn't necessarily imply a collaboration or involvement in his projects.

However, it's worth noting that many celebrities who have visited the studio have appeared in Death Stranding, as Kojima has taken the opportunity to capture their likeness. That said, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the same might happen with Hyung-Tae.

On another note, it's not ruled out that both creatives may have used this visit to discuss potential collaborations in their upcoming games: Stellar Blade and Death Stranding, possibly involving DLC costumes or similar content, maybe even for GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE, especially considering that some Death Stranding characters could fit as Nikkes, or that SHIFT UP has already confirmed that there could be collaborations with different franchises in Stellar Blade as well.

Only time will reveal the plans of both creatives.

Do you think Hideo Kojima is preparing a collaboration with SHIFT UP? Share your thoughts in the comments or on Discord.

Stellar Blade will debut on April 26, 2024, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
