Aside from the controversies, 2024 has been a great year so far for the video game industry. During the first months, high-profile and indie titles debuted that met fans' expectations. Due to the large number of releases, you may have overlooked 3 very interesting proposals that you can play for free.
A couple of weeks ago, Bandai Namco quietly released 3 games for PC without much fanfare. All of them are already available, so you can find them on Steam and add them to your library. The best part? They are free and you can play them without restrictions at any time.
These titles were developed by Gyaar Studio, a label of Bandai Namco that hosts new employees who work on small projects to gain the experience and knowledge necessary to join larger budget games in the future.
The recruits of the Japanese company release new games every year with the support of the publisher Phoenixx. According to the portal VGC, the games of 2023 were Hook & Kaiju, Shigeru Planet, and Excycle, which were available for free to all players in Japan. Luckily, the 2024 experiences reached everyone worldwide.

The first free game on the list is Nottolot, an action title with puzzle elements where you play as a cute spherical robot trying to escape from a production factory. To complete the task, you'll have to attack and hack other robots to use their abilities and navigate through the levels. Thanks to its simple and fun concept, it has very positive reviews.
The next game is Doronko Wanko, where you'll play as an adorable and mischievous Pomeranian dog. What's your goal? Roll around in mud to mess up the entire house. Although its harmless concept is very simple, it's very endearing and managed to resonate with the community. Currently, 98% of the 1341 reviews available on Steam are extremely positive.
Lastly, Bandai Namco's third free game is Boomeroad, a title with a futuristic anime aesthetic where you'll slide along rails that you create with the help of a boomerang. Like its counterparts, it has very positive ratings on the Valve platform.
