Ella Purnell claims that the series' story will have the same effect on fans

Adding to the massive success of League of Legends, the franchise surprised everyone with an impressive animated series adaptation, Arcane, considered by some as the best production ever made based on a video game. So far, this series stands as the pinnacle of the combination of both mediums, hence its second season is raising high expectations, and those involved are only fueling the hype.

Season 2 of Arcane will be devastating and will make fans cry

During an interview with TechRadar, Ella Purnell, the actress voicing Jinx in Arcane, revealed an intriguing detail about the second season, which won't premiere until November this year. However, its announcement has caused significant interest as it's expected to raise the bar set by the first season. According to the actress, the continuation of Arcane's story will be very emotional, so much so that it's highly likely to make fans cry, just like it did to her.

In that regard, Ella Purnell stated: "I've just gone back in to do some pick-ups for the end of season two, and I cried. So I think other people will cry too. It's devastating and nobody will feel good after watching it."

Arcane was a success both as a series production and as a creative work, receiving continuous praise. In 2022, a documentary was released, chronicling the creation and production process of this story derived from the lore of League of Legends, a MOBA that over the years has transformed into a market behemoth and esports giant.

At its peak, the recognition and success of Arcane was such that it received Emmy nominations and won the award for Best Animated Series of the year, surpassing high-level productions like The Simpsons, Rick and Morty, and Marvel's What If...?. Simultaneously, Arcane is considered a trailblazer of a new era, demonstrating that TV series and movies based on video games could be of high quality, leaving behind the embarrassing moments of the past.
