Apple has just eased policies around emulators

A few days ago, Apple announced it would relax its policies on emulators in its App Store, thus allowing retro console emulators to be offered, and it seems users have welcomed these changes with open arms, as they have just made one of these emulators the most downloaded app in the App Store.

Just days after the changes were made, developers worked on emulators. One of them is Delta (Delta - Game Emulator), which allows playing titles from Nintendo consoles Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo DS. Its creators claim they plan to expand compatibility with more systems.

The release of this emulator happened less than 2 days ago, but it's already the most downloaded free application in the App Store.

What does the Delta emulator offer in the App Store?

Unfortunately, the App Store doesn't show the number of downloads at the time of writing, but they must surely count in the millions, as the software is free and more popular than apps like Google, Temu, Threads, SHEIN, and ChatGPT.

According to the application details, it offers support for a wide variety of controllers, such as Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, Joy-Cons, Nintendo Switch Online Controllers (NES, SNES, N64), DualShock 4 (PlayStation 4), DualSense (PlayStation 5), Xbox One S, Xbox Series X, MFi controllers, and Bluetooth and wired keyboards.

As if that wasn't enough, Delta - Game Emulator promotes that it is compatible with well-known cheats for each console, such as Game Genie, Action Replay, and Game Shark.

"Delta is not affiliated in any way with Nintendo. The name 'Nintendo' and all associated game console names are registered trademarks of Nintendo Co., Ltd," clarifies Testut Tech, the project's responsible.

Nintendo has not made a statement regarding this emulator.
