The popularity of Fallout rebounded thanks to the Amazon live-action series, which was a resounding success on Prime Video. The production brought gamers back to popular installments of the saga, and also caused downloads of popular mods for certain games to skyrocket.
Surprisingly, this caused one of the most popular mod sites to crash due to the traffic and high number of downloads from PC gamers. We are referring to Nexus Mods which, through a statement, explained what happened.

Bethesda has always been close to the modding community, so it's not uncommon to know that there are thousands of mods for each of the Fallout titles. Games like Fallout 4 and Fallout: New Vegas are some of the most modded by the community.
Due to the new fever for the franchise, the number of players of those installments skyrocketed. Much of the community decided to return to the titles and experiment with mods, which caused unusual traffic on Nexus Mods and, subsequently, the collapse of the page.
There is no doubt that Bethesda's franchise was to blame for what happened, as Nexus Mods confirmed in a brief statement where it asked for patience from players in order to solve the problem.
"We are experiencing much more traffic than usual due to the popularity of the Fallout TV series. We have deployed extra resources where possible and we are monitoring the uptime and performance across the network. We have staff on call at all times to deal with any problems," the portal explained.
This fact is further proof of the popularity of the franchise, now in the hands of Xbox, and the resounding success of the live-action series. Recently, it was confirmed that there will be a Season 2, so the future looks very good for fans of the saga.
