Fortnite keeps the excitement alive and gears up to receive new collaborations and exclusive content in its upcoming season. While there are plenty of surprises in store, Epic Games wanted to make the wait more enjoyable by unveiling one of the most anticipated crossovers.
The free-to-play phenomenon is known for celebrating collaborations with all sorts of movie, TV, anime, and, of course, video game franchises. That said, there are still many series yet to cross paths with this free experience. One of them is Fallout, the famous role-playing game franchise from Bethesda and Xbox.
Fortunately, that's about to change very soon. Rumors turned out to be true, and Epic Games confirmed this week that themed content from the post-apocalyptic franchise will arrive in Fortnite.

Fortnite x Fallout will be a reality, but when will the crossover happen?
On Friday, May 17, the development studio thrilled fans with the announcement of the crossover with Fallout. Although no further details were shared, they revealed a conceptual art featuring an iconic power armor alongside what appears to be a factory and a sandstorm. The post includes a couple of emojis referencing the famous Vault Boy.
Even without an official release date, the themed content is expected to arrive in Fortnite during Chapter 5, Season 3, which kicks off on May 24. This theory makes sense considering that, according to rumors, the next season will have dieselpunk inspirations akin to Mad Max. Certainly, the Bethesda saga aligns with that approach.
Naturally, what the collaboration will entail remains unknown. Players might be able to purchase and unlock skins, backpacks, pickaxes, and other thematic items based on the Fallout games. It's also not far-fetched to think that some outfits could be inspired by characters from the recent live-action series.
This collaboration was confirmed shortly after the successful premiere of the show starring Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins. This adaptation reached excellent viewership levels on Prime Video, and even boosted the sales of the game franchise. Therefore, the arrival of the franchise in Fortnite seems like a natural step.
