Tony Huynh wants the iconic character played by Bryan Cranston to join the video game

Similar to Super Smash Bros., MultiVersus catches attention for being a crossover where colorful characters battle in competitive matches. While most fighters are expected to belong to intellectual properties under the Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella, it seems there's a chance to see fighters from third-party franchises.

While it might seem far-fetched, some fans are eager to see Walter White, the protagonist of Breaking Bad, in the multiplayer video game, fighting alongside Shaggy Ultra Instinct. Beyond whether it's possible for a character from a drama series to join the roster, there are many legal issues that cast doubt on his inclusion.

Will fans of MultiVersus ever be able to play as the character portrayed by Bryan Cranston? It's impossible to know for sure, but recently, a developer teased the community and rekindled hope.

Director wants Walter White to come to MultiVersus

In a conversation with TheGamer, Tony Huynh, director of the competitive title, talked about the possibility of seeing Heisenberg in the selectable roster. To the surprise of many, he expressed enthusiasm for the idea and stated that he will do everything possible to bring the character into the game, although he acknowledges that copyright issues make the task difficult.

"It's complicated, but personally, I will do everything possible to make it happen. Everything that happens with third-party franchises in general... there are things that players don't understand. It's more complicated and not a super easy process. So there are no promises, but personally, I will put a lot of effort into it"; highlighted the director of MultiVersus.

While the creative from Player First Games clearly asks the community to moderate their expectations, it's undeniable that his words excite fans who, for a long time, believed that the inclusion of Walter White was impossible. Of course, it remains to be seen whether Warner Bros. reaches an agreement with Sony Pictures Television to materialize that collaboration.

In 2022, the community managed to bring the character played by Bryan Cranston to the competitive title with the help of mods, and even a developer suggested that the crossover could become a reality.

As for the future of MultiVersus, we already know that Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th and the Joker from DC Comics will join the game in the relaunch at the end of May. The Agent Smith from Matrix is expected to join the fray at some point in Season 1.

Now, what's next? In an interview with LEVEL UP, Kyle Vigorito from Player First Games teased that they have planned many "awesome" characters and other novelties. Additionally, he promised to support the game with new content for a long time, as long as players support the project.

But tell us, would you like Walter White to be a playable character in Warner Bros.' Super Smash Bros.? How do you think he would fight? Let us know in the comments.

MultiVersus will be available starting on May 28th. Follow this link to read more news related to it.
