Activision Blizzard, now owned by Microsoft, has recently undergone a round of layoffs that extended to Toys For Bob, a studio best known for its recent releases of Crash Bandicoot. According to reports, this situation led to the closure of the companys offices.

According to information from the San Francisco Chronicle, the layoffs at Microsoft and Activision Blizzard (which affected approximately 1900 employees) also impacted Toys for Bob. Thats not all, as this situation also led to the closure of the studios offices located at 4 Hamilton Landing, Novato, California, United States.

Toys For Bob is also known for its work on Skylanders

What will happen to Toys For Bob? Will it close its doors?

At the moment, it is unclear what this will mean for Toys for Bob. So far, no reports suggest that the studio will close its doors. In fact, it seems that its fate could be similar to Sledgehammer Games, the Call of Duty studio that shared an office with Toys for Bob. Remember that the development team underwent layoffs and now works remotely temporarily before being relocated to a smaller office.

Thus, it is likely that Toys for Bobs employees will start working remotely before moving to another office. That being said, it remains to be seen what this will mean for the studio that recently delighted us with Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Crash Team Rumble.

What do you think about Toys for Bobs situation? What do you believe is the future of the studio now that it is part of Microsoft? Let us know in the comments.
