Back 4 Blood's next major DLC expansion, officially titled Children of the Worm, was announced today by Warner Bros. Games and Turtle Rock Studios. The upcoming expansion will be available on August 30, 2022, as part of the Annual Pass for the base game, Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, or separately.

Children of the Worm will also include eight exclusive character skins and twelve exclusive weapon skins, as well as new weapons, accessories, and cards.

In addition, several new free content items, such as skins, legendary items, cards, emblems, spays, and more, have recently been added to the game and are available to all Back 4 Blood owners.

Turtle Rock has claimed before that if at least one player in a party purchases the Children of the Worm expansion, all players in that party will have access to its playable content.

Back 4 Blood occurs after a catastrophic outbreak in which the Hellworm has killed or infected a significant portion of humanity.

Empowered by unspeakable events and inspired to fight for the last of humankind, a group of apocalyptic veterans, known as the Sentinels, band together to face the horrors of these infected, known as the Contagious, in the hopes of reclaiming the world.

Turtle Rock Studios' co-op zombie shooter is now available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
