It’s fair to say that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 had one of the most lackluster launches in the franchise’s history. Despite the rocky start, the developers aren’t backing down and will release plenty of additional content in the coming months. And yes, there’s also room for gifts.

Perhaps in an attempt to attract undecided players, Treyarch and Activision will offer one of the most beloved characters in the series completely free of charge. While it’s an operator returning from previous titles, this time fans will be able to add him to their collection without spending a single dollar.

This week, the developers published an extensive blog post on Activision’s official website highlighting the new content coming to the FPS as part of Season 1. Fans can expect a massive amount of additions, including multiplayer maps and a new Zombies mode campaign.

The Replacer Will Be a Free Character in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

As usual, a large portion of the new features will be available for free to all players. Of course, the premium store will also be updated with new paid skins and cosmetic bundles. Fortunately, one of the most noteworthy items will be available to everyone without exception.

In the announcement, the company confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players will be able to obtain one of the series’ most iconic operators for free: The Replacer, once again portrayed with the look and personality of actor Peter Stormare.

This character will be available at no cost starting with Season 1 on December 4, and all fans who purchased the latest entry in the franchise will be able to add him to their collection. It’s unclear if the gift has an expiration date, so interested players should claim it as soon as possible.

Carlos Ballarta Becomes the Replacer for Mexico

Fans know that The Replacer was born from the marketing campaigns for this subseries. He first appeared in the commercials for Black Ops 2, with Peter Stormare reprising the role in the marketing of the sequels.

It wasn’t until Black Ops 4 that this icon became a playable operator in Blackout, the franchise’s first Battle Royale. He returned in last year’s release and will once again appear in the 2025 title for free.

For Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, popular Mexican comedian Carlos Ballarta took on the mantle of The Replacer for marketing across Mexico and Latin America. At Level Up, we had the chance to speak with him in an interview where he discussed his experience in the recording sessions and other interesting topics.
